do you have to pay to be an affiliated club? also what are the pros/cons of doing this. Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: -chris- on December 01, 2006, 19:40:36 PM Contact membership services on 0161 274 2010 who will advise you of the procedure, and will send you all the necessary information and forms to complete. Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: sallie on December 02, 2006, 07:44:01 AM The advantage of being affiliated is that you have the insurance cover for your club and good support from B.C.
The first year is the most expensive, after that there are reductions in the affiliation fee for every member you have of B.C. I also think that B.C. give you some free bronze memberships to distribute to your volunteers. Every region has a B.C. manager, if you get in touch with B.C. they will tell you who your regional manager is and they would help you set up an official club. Good luck whatever you decide to do. ;D Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: WDH on December 02, 2006, 19:41:46 PM Thanks guys. I may do it next year when we have established ourself. Were only officially a week old so i think it could be a bit to quick. Im Hopefully entering a few races next year which will be good for publicity if i can get a club jersey.
Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: sallie on December 03, 2006, 08:46:34 AM Take care forming a club without insurance could land you in hot water. A group of friends you may get away with it, but if someone gets hurt on a ride you have organised wouldnt want to be you in this day and age. :)
Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: WDH on December 03, 2006, 10:48:18 AM Ive told everyone and tols them again it isnt myn or the clubs responsibility. We are mostly all from the same area anyway so we could get away with a group of friends.
Title: Re: Wentwood - South Wales Post by: sallie on December 03, 2006, 13:07:33 PM fair enough but you need to know that disclaimers etc count for nothing if someone did try to sue you. Have fun and think about it as soon as you can get it together.

You can still navigate the main site without them hence why they aren't linked to at the moment. Site needed to be updated fairly urgently thats why there wasn't enough time to do every link. They will all be fixed by tonight anyway. Cheers |
