Hi. I was wandering if any one else has experienced this or if my helmet is a defective one...

Just by pushing the helmets outer shell with your finger you can put dents in it. I cant see this helping/protecting you too much if you crash.

Just looking for some advice on this, and I might also contact TSG.

We sell these at work and they certainly dont 'dent' when you touch them, contact TSG/Who ever you bought it off.

I have noticed this on mine too, the gloss black one shows it up really bad, but I can also tell you that they do work well in crashes.. I stuffed it on a rather big line on the 3rd day of having mine :( but it saved my noggin

Yeh my mate has had one for about 6 months now, and it looks silly every time you knock it it makes a dent!

still very light thou! feels like your not wearing a lid!

and you have to push it with some force not just touch it to dent it. i suggest you stop poking your helmet... ;D

i have a TSG superlight and I dropped it about 2 feet on the floor at work (wooden floor) and it has a small dent in the side, foam liner is still fine though

the weight saving (200gm) over a standard TSG which i had before is very noticeable when you do 360s and stuff like that...its like not wearing a lid!  but as with many lighter weight parts there is a trade off of reduced long term durability

its no different to light weight XC helmets, these also use the in-moulded microshell design that is also prone to denting

the foam liner is what is providing the head protection in a crash, obviously a thicker shell will stop something like  sharp rock or branch penetrating the liner, but the TSG is a skate / bmx helmet and you don't generally encounter those kinds of hazards in skateparks?
