ASTON HILL – GETTING BACK ON TRACK

The future of Aston Hill has hung in the balance for some time now but all that is set to change. Those of you following the bike press will know that a rider based committee has been established and working alongside both the CTC and Forestry Commission will reinstate Aston Hill as one South East England’s premier DH/4X/XC venues.

A new identity and website www.rideastonhill.co.uk has been launched to provide a single and accurate source of information regarding the re-development of Aston Hill. As the club gains momentum the level of information available online will increase to include trail maps, directions, weather, club news and events.

A spokesperson for the club commented, “On the 6th April we are proud to be playing host to the next National Bike Demo Day event, which will allow riders to get back on the “Hill” whilst trying out the latest offerings from many leading bike manufacturers. The following day a meeting with the CTC and Forestry Commission will hopefully see the clubs future secured. Anyone wishing to attend and offer support should visit the website for further details”.

A number of riders have been spotted on Aston Hill ignoring past requests to keep off. We would once again urge you to please stay of the tracks whilst we enter the final stages of negotiating the clubs future. If all goes to plan, the new facility should be up and running for Summer 2008.

We don't like to use the term 'insane', we prefer 'mentally hilarious'
