The theory being that the downtube is under tension so therefore can be substituted with a wire. Don't fancy it myself, mainly because you can't guarentee it will stay in that condition at all times. Post by: Chasealex on July 24, 2008, 08:26:18 AM I think it'd make a nice road bike, but that cable's only good under tension and on a mountainbike, with severe braking forces, there's not gonna be a whole lot of tension, meaning you're relying on that flexible bit between your legs to hold the bike together. Lovely.
