Title: France bike
Post by: Cheesegrater on July 24, 2008, 22:17:14 PM
Right if worst comes to worst it looks like I'm going to have to get a new frame for France.  My setup is, Dorados, 8'' avids, saint cranks, Sram x9 gears, MRP type 2.  All I need is a frame (I say all I need)  I really like the look of a tranisition bottlerocket.  How would it ride with Dorados?  What ya reckon, budget of £1000 give or take, I'd like new as I've had enough of being farted about with being sold dodgey frames.

why not buy a good cheap frame for france that wont depreciate (coyote dh3 for instance) and get your money back off sepi when you come back and buy something you really want rather than rush into getting a frame for france :-\

That is true, but then I'd have spent 200ish on a frame I'm only going to use for a week.  I've been toying with the idea of a shorter travel/lighter frame for a while.  The way Sepi was talking sounded like me getting my money back would be unlikely :(

To be honest thats some awesome advise coming from [DHO].

its not worth rushing into buying a frame for france, that may just be a rushed choice and youl end up regret buying.

as said youd be best of buying a nice second hand frame the wont depreciate much, once back get it sold and buy the frame thats ideal with you as youl have time to compare different brands.

say you get a dh3 for £200, you will sell it for £200 every day of the week on here, they're great frames.

a bottle rocket, buy a new one use it for a week you'll be lucky if you dont loose £200 in a week depreciation!
