Ryan, it wasn't at Alex's, it was mine. We were going on a two week road trip! DOH!
I can apprectiate that people may take offence to me saying the NHS is w*nk, but it truely is my feeling to the matter in hand. I'll bring in another example.
When I was 12, I broke my wrist in three places. I was picked up immediately from the accident site, and emitted into A&E right away. This is when the problems started.
I had not eaten in about 4 hours, and not drunk in about the same. This was okay, becuase I was in absolute agony (very severe break) and was going to go directly into surgery. Hopefully. However, the Doctor that was 'on call' wasn't answering his phone/pager and therefore was unable to come in. Other Doctors were doing an eptonic pregnancy (I think that's it) and that's fair enough.
Anyway to carry the story on, I spent 12 hours in A&E in a stupid amount of pain, slowly dehydrating and starving incase the doctor was going to answer his phone to come in and operate.
He didn't. I got moved to the childrens ward, where I spent another 12 hours without food and only little water waiting for the doctor.
He finally came after another 6 hours.
I waited 30 hours in absolute agony for my arm to be operated on.
Another story. When I was 9, the end of my middle finger got chopped off in a skateboarding accident. I was sat in the waiting room at Yeovil hospital for 2 hours balling my eyes out waiting for a doctor to see me. I WAS MISSING THE END OF MY FINGER!!
I hope that you too can appreciate my opinions of the NHS, as I can appreciate yours.
I've taken the sling off now to give the arm a more natural recovery, already got a little movement. I think I'm a quick healer.
