I've been there and got the T-shirt. The doctor diagnosed me with 2nd Degree (Subluxation) as seen in the link above. It took me at least two weeks to recover before I was able to ride again, but the pain kicked in every now and then. A full recovery is at least a month if you take it easy.

Guess what the cause of that was? I smashed into a tree with my right shoulder during my race run, and when I reached the finish line, I toppled over in excruciating pain. It felt like I had dislocated my shoulder with restricted movements no more than two inches.

It is there for permanent now. I have 1/4 raise lump on my right shoulder, where the joints attach to the clavicle which feels funny on some occasions.

Cheers for the webby link.

Give us two weeks and I'll be fine. I hope.

Just getting an appointment at the private hospital for physio. The NHS is fu*king w*nk. I have no faith in them anymore.

Also, cheers for the support.  Smiley

No wonder you were a bit quiet on the phone last night!
What were you trying when you crashed?

I know what you mean they failed to diagnose a fractured arm about 4-5 months ago, had to get a second opinion(sp)

Get well soon man Wink

NHS is fu*king w*nk. They forgot about me last night.

I had no shirt on, no blanket, no pillow, no pain killers. Nothing. This was after I'd been emmited.

They didn't actually tell me whats wrong. I never saw a Doctor in the end. I now have to wait 5 days to be told what is actually wrong with me (until I ssaw that webby above). That is why the NHS is fu*king w*nk.

They also let my gran die, by not letting her have a scan. She died a day after they gave her the scan which was two weeks late.

The NHS is fu*king w*nk.

They certainly do suck in some circumstances, but its not like we have to pay, and then we feel done over (I know we kinda pay in taxes, but itd be a helluva lot more per visit/treatment if we paid each time).

They missed my grandad having pneumonia right after a stroke and he died too, not good. But they did stitch my chin up twice and my bro's eyebrow and gave me loads of ear ops when I was a kid so there's goods and bads.

Anyway, get well soon Smiley

It's a bit unfair to say NHS is w*nk. My Mum works as a radiographer in the NHS and I know she works her arse off having done 24 hour shifts before because they don't have enough staff. Everyone moans like "NHS missed this" or whatever but is that to say private never miss anything?? There's so many more horror stories about NHS than like BUPA because so many more people us it and to be honest being a doctor has got to be a f**king hard job, trying to understand how the human body works and work out what's wrong a few things are bound to be missed.
It's fair enough to say "they let me down, I'm going private" but to get angry at a free service that does far more good than bad is just daft.

Anyhow, hope your shoulder fixes itself soon.

Orge.

Ryan, it wasn't at Alex's, it was mine. We were going on a two week road trip! DOH!

I can apprectiate that people may take offence to me saying the NHS is w*nk, but it truely is my feeling to the matter in hand. I'll bring in another example.

When I was 12, I broke my wrist in three places. I was picked up immediately from the accident site, and emitted into A&E right away. This is when the problems started.

I had not eaten in about 4 hours, and not drunk in about the same. This was okay, becuase I was in absolute agony (very severe break) and was going to go directly into surgery. Hopefully. However, the Doctor that was 'on call' wasn't answering his phone/pager and therefore was unable to come in. Other Doctors were doing an eptonic pregnancy (I think that's it) and that's fair enough.

Anyway to carry the story on, I spent 12 hours in A&E in a stupid amount of pain, slowly dehydrating and starving incase the doctor was going to answer his phone to come in and operate.

He didn't. I got moved to the childrens ward, where I spent another 12 hours without food and only little water waiting for the doctor.

He finally came after another 6 hours.

I waited 30 hours in absolute agony for my arm to be operated on.

Another story. When I was 9, the end of my middle finger got chopped off in a skateboarding accident. I was sat in the waiting room at Yeovil hospital for 2 hours balling my eyes out waiting for a doctor to see me. I WAS MISSING THE END OF MY FINGER!!

I hope that you too can appreciate my opinions of the NHS, as I can appreciate yours.

I've taken the sling off now to give the arm a more natural recovery, already got a little movement. I think I'm a quick healer.  Smiley
