Glad to hear it all worked out in the end, and sorry for opening the E-can of worms.

Any chance you could bob a picture up of the old bolt/threads inside the axle? Maybe we can have a crack at diagnosing why the hell this happened!

D_i_R, I agree, Little Bringe does have more potential.  The 2nd half especially...already has some line options, but more would be nice!

Dave Cotton did a lot of reworking down there, so we all ought to get together and have a look-see at what you're thinking 'bout!

It's worth sessioning. There are more than 4 ways to get to the bottom but I think there are 4 main tracks. But there are loads of litle bits and different ways to go. The longest part of the push is from the bottom to the fire road. After that it's not too bad.

i'd go for a low stack stem over direct mount, less likely to damage things in a crash.

I think a few people share your opinion Miffy!

Wonderland is getting wider in parts, which is giving more line options.  And people want the new line that is going in will be a wider, multiple line race track.  Sounds great in theory, but harder in practice at a place like Cannock with not a lot of roots and rocks...so we'll see what they come up with on Sunday!

Helicoils are pretty easy to do. I've done 3 now. And the 1st one was on a nearly new set of 08 888. Drill, tap and insert. When I get in from work I'll check to see how the drill bit for it goes through the hole for an M6 bolt.

Not me this time unfortunately, instead of training like a beast and riding to win, I'll be abusing my body at V festival! Cheesy

Get your money back, don't brother faffing about with damaging the frame as then you have no leg to stand on if you do want the money back.

In theory you can take him to court if he refuses to refund you as it was sold in an unuasable state, and not described as such. Take a trip down to your local Citizens Advice Bearu (sp..) and they'll help you out. I'm sure the threat of a beatdown in court would convince him that giving your moneyback is the right thing to do.
