THE COLLECTIVE “SEASONS” MOUNTAIN BIKE FILM - UK CINEMA TOUR – ADDITIONAL DATES AND A WORLD PREMIERE SCREENING OF “HOME” ANNOUNCED FOR GLASGOW

The Glasgow International Bike Film Festival – On Tour are delighted to announce additional dates for the cinema premiere tour of the new mountain bike film from “The Collective” called “Seasons” and an exclusive WORLD PREMIERE for the Glasgow screening on Wednesday May 21st at the GFT.

The tour runs from 30th April to 14th of June across the UK. Event details below or go to www.thecollectivefilm.com to see the regularly updated tour schedule and to download the teaser trailer. http://www.thecollectivefilm.com/teaser_qt.html

The tour will be the only opportunity to see this film on the big screen.

WORLD PREMIERE FOR GLASGOW:

To coincide with the Glasgow screening of “Seasons” on Wednesday May 21st at the GFT www.gft.org , the Glasgow International Bike Film Festival is delighted to announce the WORLD PREMIERE of “HOME”, the eagerly awaited feature from the creator of “Downhill Racer Race Guide”, Mark Huskisson.

Filmed entirely on location, “Home” is a film about discovery, about family and friends. It's a glimpse into the lives of people who feel at home on their bikes, at the passion that drives these different and varied characters, these racers and trail riders. “Home” isn't just a physical space it's a place where worldly cares fade and riding mountain bikes becomes your life. This film not only captures Scotland's stunning landscape, it captures the spirit of the place and of the people. Featuring reigning Junior World Downhill Champion, Ruaraidh Cunningham and trials phenomenon, Daniel Macaskill, Home is a must see for bike fans and film fans alike.

NEW DATES:

Dates have been announced for Stirling, Edinburgh, Bristol and Aberdeen. Tickets for Edinburgh and Aberdeen are due to go on sale in the next few days while tickets for Stirling and Bristol are now on sale.

In addition, dates for Inverness and Newcastle screenings in July will be announced on www.thecollectivefilm.com in the next few days.

OTHER NEWS: UK PREMIERE BIG PRIZE GIVE AWAY

To celebrate the UK premiere of Seasons which takes place next Wednesday night (30th April) at 7pm at the Prince Charles Cinema just off Leicester Square, GIBFF have teamed up with www.cyclesurgery.com and www.re-cycle.org to run a charity prize raffle on the night. Prizes announced include a 25th Anniversary Deore XT groupset so for the price of a raffle ticket, you could be going home with a pretty special memento of the evening! The raffle will be held on the night between the screenings of “Roam” and “Seasons”.

The screening will start at 7pm sharp with an introduction by Cycle Surgery and Re-cycle a few minutes before 7 so patrons are advised to turn up to the cinema early to take their seats.  It’s going to be a very busy cinema so turn up early to get your choice of seat. There is also a bar in the cinema for pre and post event drinks.

There are only a few tickets left and these can be bought from the cinema or by going to the link below and purchasing them directly from Cycle Surgery.

MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK:

When the tour was planned, it was expected that “Seasons” would run for some 40 minutes. However, The Collective have amassed such great footage over the last year that the running time of Seasons is now a full 60 minutes of their trademark mix of stunning riding, great cinematography and a sublime soundtrack. With so much footage to edit, they’ve not had time to complete their short 5 minute making of documentary as planned for the UK Premiere. However, when you see Seasons on the big screen, you’ll agree that the extra footage more than makes up for it!

SPECIAL GUEST FOR SHEFFIELD SCREENING:

One of the stars of “Seasons” will be in attendance at the Sheffield screening on Tuesday 10th June in the Showroom cinema. If things go to plan, he may even be willing to answer questions from the audience after the film!  We don’t want to give the game away just yet but you may be able to guess who it is! and WWW.HEASON.NET

AMBLESIDE SCREENING BIG PRIZE GIVEAWAY:

Our friends at WWW.BIKETREKS.NET have been feverishly pulling together an ever expanding list of prizes to hand out on the night to the audience including a very smart set of Magura disc brakes. Tickets for the Ambleside screening at Zeffirellis on the 18th of May are going very quickly and a sell out performance is expected.

A BIT MORE ABOUT SEASONS

In 2004, The Collective released the self-titled film, The Collective. The
film went on to win several prestigious awards and quickly became recognised
by mountain bikers around the world as the film that the mountain bike world
had been waiting for.

In 2006, their second film, Roam, was released to even
greater critical and commercial success. The film played to a series of sell
out cinema screening throughout the UK.

Now in 2008, The Collective are back with their eagerly anticipated third
feature, "Seasons".
