Reporting stuff to mods....?
« on: December 22, 2006, 13:49:26 PM »

What do you actually do when someones reported?
Its not the 1st time I've reported a seller and not even had a reply, I've only given very limited details so nothing much could be being done so it makes you wonder what the point is.

I appreciate mods are only doing it out of good will but if they aren't going to act on or even acknowledge a complaint maybe someone else with more spare time should deal with complaints.

Not really complaining but I would appreciate some sort of support when you report someone, even if its just the mod letting them know a complaint has been made and they risk being blacklisted if they don't sort out the sale.

People are quick enough to slate each other if they post on the forum about a seller mentioning names but from experience it seems the only way any moderation takes place.....

We get a little email with your query and we take an ation of deleting posts (usually bumps in classifieds) removing offensive post, whatever really. Thats what I do.

If your refering to the PM you sent me a while back I passed it onto veero who investigate it, did he get back to you?

No I haven't heard anything back.

I'm not especially reffering to any 1 thing just a general question, would just be nice to know the mods are aware and doing something.

I would've thought just an email to the seller with the buyer copied in would promt most 'estabilshed' members to get their act together and save mods time looking into stuff in much detail.

Oh crapsticks, sorry been busy and my PM inbox fills up pretty quickly.

Send me a reminder and I will deal with it.  Embarrassed

Generally we get so many reports we don't follow them all up individually so sorry yours has got lost in the ether.

just a thought but why don't you have a rating for the reports i.e. 5* for really important things-scammers, dodging dealing etc and than going down to 1* for something like "this guy can't stop using caps"

just a thought seen as you do have so many things to try and deal with or maybe this will turn into one of those things Tongue

We kinda do, internally. Once someone  reports to mod its read and if appropriate notes are made on the mod boards etc,
