MRP with no rollers
« on: January 19, 2007, 21:08:06 PM »

I got this bike of a mate in a swap deal, he needed a DH bike ect ect anyway I now own a Patriot which is very nice bike to ride at the local trails. The thing is it has an MPR with no rollers but in my mate says it has never droped a chain, And so far it has not while I have been on it. I was wondering why this was perhaps its because it only has 6 inch travel or do we need rollers?

heres a pic

What bike has Andi got now.......his 224 back Huh

Doesnt really make much difference on the frame mate, more luck really..........best to get 1 or a couple of rollers on that Alvar just to tame the chain and save it going into the rear wheel.

better to get one really, my patriot came with a triple chainring at the front to start with so when i ordered the chain device, new ring etc it had to be the chain device that didnt turn up.

would have been ok for a few days but i was at abercarn at the weekend so was riding with one chain ring and no chain device. some runs it stayed on for 30 seconds others about 40 and some about 15!

i would get some rollers dude, it will scratch the cranks every time the chain comes off (i have some nice marks on mine), and its a bugger getting off and putting it back on.
