got a panasonic nv-gs400 - its a pritty high end mini dv camera (about 1400 quid) before you start getting into the professional ones...
anyway, its about 8months old now, was watching some stuff back when the screen went black.
it would appear the playback function has stopped working - the time code thingy goes to zero implying it cant read the tape.
ive tried all the obvious like changing tapes to ones i know have stuff on, tried resetting it, switching off, changing battery, leaving it for ages etc but no luck.
if you press rewind etc you can hear it working although the time code picks nothing up. you can view things in record mode, and it says record if you press record, but nothing appears when you go to playback mode.
theres no error con flashing telling me theres a problem.

and thoughts...?

still under warantee but the means ill have to send it away for about a month
