Not to be a spoilsport - go for the shopping but just bear in mind...

Import duty could be charged.
Then VAT could be charged on the purchase AND import duty.
Then, if Parcelfarce get their hands on it, they whack a £13.50 handling charge on top!

Soooooo....
£100 + £15 duty * 17.5% plus £13.50 = £148

Some people get lucky, some don't.  My last 'bargain' was marked 'sample' and I didn't.  Nowt you can do apart from save some cash for the bill - and have a good night out if you are lucky!

I know it's a minefield, but what import duty would you expect on a £170 purchase?

how easy is it to buy of ebay.com?
is it just a case of paying with paypal normally and then paying adidtion costs or whatnot?

Very easy, just got myself a pair of brand new 2007 juicy 7's for £150 with postage, although I know I will be stung with tax!
