What Digi Cam - Help Required - PLEASE!!!!!!!
« on: April 20, 2007, 07:12:11 AM »

What would you recommend for about £200 mostly  for taking biking pics etc (it will stay in the camelback) so something that will not produce blurry pics of moving objects.

Any ideas?

Or at least what features should I look for?

I have considered :-

Fuji F40, F31, E900

Panasonic DMC FX01 , DMC TZ3

Canon Ixus I7

but am now cross eyed with looking and dont really know what to look out for.

Cheers

Don't just look at the mega pixels value, its not a measurement of how good a camera is, just its image size, anything over 5MP is suitable for most people. Digital zoom is pointless, it just the same as blowing the image up on the PC, optical zoom is the one to look at, most have 3x, so anything over that is better. Make sure it has lots of manual setting as this will help you improve your pictures as you get more advanced with the camera.
Read lots of reviews and check out sample images (Fuji have them on their site), also download the manual as this gives more info about the interface and use of features (eg you may find you can only use some features in certain modes). If your planing on buying online theres nothing wrong with going into a shop to have a look at it and get a physical feel before you buy online.

My recommendation for a cam is th Nikon Coolpix 3200.  Pretty much no lag time and produces good sports shots: (cost £180)

That cam looks quite good, is it good for biking pics (non blur) and  is it easy to use for beginners??

Not rechargeable batteries??  how long do the AA last?

Cheers

and last thing it is easy to use but when you get better set it to full manual mode and u can control darkness lightedd shutter speed and anything
so when you first get it justs et it to sport mode.
and when you press the button to take it
thers like 2 clicks
first click sets it up
second click
takes it straight away
so half click it  to get it set up then when you wana take it press it the rest fo the way
thats what it is when  ppl say it takes afew seconds later
anythign else just ask mate:)
