Mods locking and deleting threads.
« on: June 22, 2007, 22:06:47 PM »

Well it happened to me I expect it has happened to many others. If a mod deletes a thread it would be nice if they could justify it to the person whos thread they deleted.

After having a thread deleted, the justification I recieved was totally wrong.

Yes good idea, I'll post a DH track on a "show us your dirt jumps" thread. Clever boy  Roll Eyes
The point of my thread was to see what DH other people had built, don't see anybody posting Dh tracks on the dirt jump thread.

I bet if I posted a dh track on that thread I would get flamed for that too...

When I pointed this out to the mod their error was not corrected.

He can lock threads, but he won't correct his mistakes. Wow, big man!!!!

said mod may or may not be called st jimmy.

Some people have a right attitude problem. Roll Eyes

And if a mod shows you another thread similar to post in and locks your topic, then post in that one if you're really bothered, it's not exactly like the said mod is going to change their mind after is it?

And yea chill, it's only an internet forum.

I wouldn't normally join in on this conversation as it's not really got owt to do with me but I use this place a lot and appreciate the work that goes into it. So....

Muddy your being a right tw*t!!! The mods and admin on here are really fair and impartial, they give up THEIR FREE TIME to make this place a better forum and keep the place tidy and respectable. They don't get paid to do this you know!!

Show a bit of respect for the fact that they take time to run this site because without them this place would be NOTHING

Have a little bit of sense to realize why he locked your thread, if they didn't do that sort of thing this whole place would be full of "what colour" "what brake" "which fork" threads and it wouldn't be half as usefull as it is at the minute.

Every time you would do a search for something you need (thats the button at the top that says search if you haven't figured out what it does yet) you would get 500 topics on the subject you wanted with responses littered all over the place that could have been condensed into a handfull of usefull threads like it is now and it would be an absolute knightmare finding any info that you want.

Just chill out and realise he's just doing what they do .....  and if they didn't the site would be s**te.

If you had a gripe with it, you should have pm'ed him explaining politely why you think he had acted inappropriately and explained why and asked to have the thread back. If he looked at it and thought "hang on yer he's got a point" he would have unlocked it. Instead you have basically tried to flame him for everone to see.

Bang out of order.

I did pm him, more than once infact - and he replied with an explanation. I pointed out that his reason was incorrect (unless dirt jumps and downhills tracks are now the same thing? Roll Eyes ). I recieved no reply from that pm and another one which I sent - therefore I assume that he is not able to justify his reasoning, and did not unlock the thread either. If somebody Fs up and won't accept their mistake or give a justification for their actions then they deserve to be flamed.

I was not posting a thread which was the same or similar to one which already existed!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it is good to have the same topic condensed into one thread and not on multiple threads, but searching will be pretty damn irritating if on each thread theres a variety of different things because its been "condensed." There would be, in your words, responses littered all over the place, just in the same thread!!!!

Can nobody see my point?

Oh, and he's put a ban on QE threads, like all the trails there are illegal. Yeah.

If you have a problem with a Mod I suggest you speak to an Admin and don't make yourself sound like a winging 8 year old on a public board. Now, if you would like to calmly, and in plain unemotional English, PM me with your side of the situation, I'll have a look into it.
