Quote from: Doug Stuart, President - Corsair Bikes
Web-Launch of the Corsair Crown DH Race Frame

When launching a new company, one that is dedicated to making bikes for the most demanding riders, first impressions cannot be underestimated. For this reason, we at Corsair Bikes have selected the Crown as our debut model - it embodies our desire for innovation, performance and style.

We at Corsair have taken great care to address the needs of the high performance DH race environment and to provide a tunable and adjustable frame and suspension platform that excels on any race course, under any conditions. Every course is different, and as the Champrey WC has recently demonstrated, every course is different from hour to hour. The ability to address those changes on the fly is an advantage to all racers, whether they compete at the local, national or World Cup level.
The Crown’s suspension platform technology is based on a low-mass 2:1 leverage ratio suspension system that manages impact energy through the bikes primary coil-over shock. When confronted with harsher race courses the Crowns suspension travel and performance can be increased and enhanced with the addition of a secondary "Blow-off" shock. By design, in order to maintain the desired leverage ratios for each shock, the two shock absorbers function independently of each other - providing the predictable traction and stability that experienced DH racers demand during every run.
A summary of the Crown’s features include:
 Low mass swingarm for highest performance
 Low stroke ratio for tune-ability and durability
 Two shock system for tune-ability.
 Idler pulley system for efficient pedaling.
 Adjustable headtube angle for tune-ability.
 CenterBalance design for superior handling.
 Precision engineering and design
The Corsair Crown will be available late Fall of 2007. If you are interested in learning more about our DH race bike, we have posted a detailed technical explanation of our frame design on our website at www.corsairbikes.com.
Corsair Bikes is a new bicycle company with offices in Seattle, WA and Salt Lake City, UT.
The company’s mission is to make high performance mountain bikes designed for hardcore riders. All frames are designed by former professional DH racer and Whistler, BC local Pablo Tafoya.
