Did sorta thing in lesgets the other week. Cut the back of my leg on the first day riding there, didnt stop me for the rest of theweek but it was annoying. Not just the fact that its a cut and stitches are there , so on... its the cost when you have to pay 120euros to get it repaired!!
ive never done that :S never had my feet slip off a pedal and catch my leg, and never wear knees and shins, how do you manage such things???
Being silly. 8-9 foot ish drop where the landing was about a foot longer then me bike, if I landed with my back wheel at the top it would have been fine, but I didnt I landed with my front wheel almost flat. Cue BIIIG compression that I couldnt hold onto and while I was concentrating on not hitting my head (although I had my lid on) my feet slipped off and you can see the results. DOH!

PS. Healing quite well now, gonna be some nice scars though.
Dam that looks nasty that happened to me once, sucked though cause i was jus riding down the road.
Did a small drop, back wheel slid out, caught me off guard and ended up with a 1 inch and a bit gash down my leg. Once I got the blood out of the way could see the bone-nasty!!!!
Now it's healed up and all thatz left is a small scar-'bout 2 cm and without stitches!!!!!!!!

Alex: So what's your opinion on this matter Rob? Rob:"Epic Fail"
I now have had that happen 3 times to me in 2 months. Yesterday I did it looked down, saw white "oh s**t I can see the bone!". Have another look, pull the flesh wider apart and move from side to side, "oh its ok its moving, I think its just the fat" then I continued to ride for 1/2 and hour before deciding there was rather a lot of blood and probably ought to go home.
thats not too bad. wait till it slides up your leg through the bone. that absolutely kills!
i know the feeling!!!!
hurts like buggery, its been about 6 years since i ripped my shin to pieces and if i put my finger on the scars i can still feel the dents in my shin bone, oddly the scars sometimes weep and go crusty, im like "dude heal already"
ive worn shinnies on every ride including XC since that day and as yet i still havnt lost a pedal in the same manner but i still wouldnt go out without being padded up, especially when theres a set of V8's about
My shins will never be the same from using both V8 and V12 pedals on my bike. I wear shinners tho, but its when you decide to have "a lesuirely cycle to the shops..." and dont bother with shin guards that you end up getting the most fantastic pedal whip!

Slipped a pedal yesterday after a bit of a wonky landing, other pedal hit the back of my leg and as I jerked out of the way I slammed my knee into my stem
Probably looked quite funny but still hurting now :'(
