Fort bill or Le pleney. Mainly because of the chair lift to the top!
I have to agree there Wink
France:
Pleney, French National (Not a fan of the Swiss) and Boulder Track Cheesy
Uk:
Bringewood, Fort Bill and good old Woburn/Chicky Cheesy

After Saturday it's gotta be Mynydd Du. Steep, tech and rough as hell and only an just over an hours drive away. I loved it, even if it was a bit much for the little bike. Could only manage 5 runs before my arms gave in and I could barely hold on any more.

Can't wait till Sunday 19th to do it all again.

Mynydd Du!!! It's awesome!

Videos just don't do it justice, It's crazy, Even in the dry!

Especially the second log drop!  Grin

Although Forest of Dean has to be up in my Favourites because you can do a full run without touching the brakes once  Smiley

The canyon run in les gets is deffinately up there. Its everything a good track should be. Really good in the wet too!

Ide have to agree with one guy that said Abercarn was good. Its probably the best in wales in my opinion. But im yet to ride mynydd du so it could all change!

Swiss national is pretty good fun mind.

My fave tracks are Les Gets 2 (2004 version, before they shut the very top section).
The Anne Caro and blue runs in Chatel.
The Avalance track in Les Arcs 1600.
And the KrAsh track at Tavi woods...
I hate the swiss national track!! That may be because i snapped my forks and ankle in one hit on the double behind the chairlft half way down

Just read the "and why" part... Les get 2 was a real blast of a 5 minute arm burner starting with a massive bermed snake of a run then off camber rooty/woods bit, then steep and bloody fast to finish, you had to be strong and talented to get a clean run in.
The Anne caro for similar reasons and it's even more tech. The blue is just an easy jumpy bermy blast, a no brainer for hangover days!
The KrAsh is at my local trails and is rough but flowy and drifty into a steep techy bit then drifty again to finish, how could you not like it?!

I've not actually ridden a proper DH track so I would say a local bit of singletrack that I came across by accident one day, excellent mix of pedalling, corners and roots. Equally fun on a DH/XC/Jump bike.

im a local boy aswell...dont travel very far, what with having no car. aston hill is ok, like the 4x more than anything.

theres a fairly smooth dh track that takes about a minute top to bottom fairly near me, pretty much built for a hardtail or short travel fully. berm to berm all the way down, few little jumps and a speed gap thing at the bottom, with several gaps coming off different points of the track. great fun, no brakes required.
