I raced an XC frame last year Roll Eyes

It's more than that though, it's almost as if they've just taken an IBIS trail bike and stuck a chain device on it. The frames pretty big with that bulge, the 55s and rocco seem rather ott for 4X (yes I know tracks are getting rougher). Be interested to know what the rear travel is Undecided

Typical 4x bike?

I forget where I read it, (maybe in this months dirt) but I am pretty sure it is a stock ibis frame that he is running. I must say, small xc frames can often have geometry that really lend them to 4x, I still reckon that the sunn prim xc frame is one of the best riding bikes that I have ridden, its a shame about it's strength.

found this

the bike looks good! lopes doesn't look to happy in the pic

For a 4X bike it doesn't look like it has all that much clearance to move around on it as the t/t doesn't drop that much and its got hell of a lot of carbon to go crack if he comes up short (not that Lopes does very often).........and the 55's are a bit of a surprise you would have thought that Marzocchi would have prefered him to ride their 4X specific fork Huh

Im sure Lopes will fly on it none the less.

Perhaps because it isn't a 4X frame he needs the length to sort the handling?

Maybe he's had a tip off that all the tracks are going to be like Vigo?

I suspect he has more than one bike. Mojo do make a hardtail, but I suspect they want Lopes pushing the full sus in the press shots.

I think it's just  rebranding, mbuk.com is now bike radar and it's part of future publishing

Going back to lopes: I might be being stupid here but isn't mountain cross different to 4x / dual! i thought mountain cross was kind of like mini DH on a 5/6in bike?? if so then that bike looks all right for that sort of stuff!!

Or am i just getting confused and being an idiot??? Undecided

As far as I'm aware (and pretty sure i'm right) mountain cross is just a name coined by Eric Carter I believe (could be wrong there too) to say the same thing as 4x.
Dual is basically 4x, but with 2 riders..

You are right.

The only thing to point out is that:

DuAl is where two riders ride on parallel but seperate tracks.

DuEl is where two riders ride together on a shared track.
