Chicksands 16/12/07
« on: December 16, 2007, 21:37:49 PM »

Just a few from today, i'm still learning about panning & general how to shoot, so some pointers would be good, but don't be too overly critical please  Cheesy

I can't decide if this one is good, or crap! Wierd effect though.

And finally, the "oh sh*t"  [8D]

I don't think so? I wasn't taking pictures over there, but I pushed up through them a few times after riding the DS.

I was poised to capture the crash in the last picture, but somehow he got away with it...

Relatively slow shutter speeds, as it was quite dark when the sun wasn't in & thats what i'd read up on when panning, 1/30 or 1/45 & low ISO's, no flash & a steady hand (not easy when its baltic!)

I don't really understand F Stops yet, but they were anywhere between 3.5 & 4.5.

Looks like you've got the idea, and about the same stage as me! I've learnt shutter speeds, and got the basics of apertures but learning it all has just been practise and learning from mistakes so far.

First one is pretty much nailed the focus.

Grin  liked the clear riders and blurred background, really sets the riding off..... but the rider in the last shot looks like it could end scarily

Really like the first one for some reason! Probably because the rider is perfectly in focus, while everything around him is blurred.
