Nah, that's not me.  I ended up waaaay closer to the double take off, and didnt get up that quickly or easily!

I dont know if he's on here, but many many thanks to the guy who picked me up, got my lid off and took me and my bike to the medics tent then went to try and find my team mates for me.  Absolute legend and I owe him a drink!

Where's that then?

BUSA is a race where all the students at universities can enter and race for their uni.  Some sad old gits like myself manage to blag "alumni" (used to be at uni) entries too sometimes Smiley

Happens once a year, always in March.  This year was Cwmcarn.

From a fellow broken person:
Completely feel for you - did mine just over a week ago, though yours looks even more painful! Must be awful for you Sad Hope you have a fairly speedy recovery.

Which specialist do you go to? They said they couldn't plate mine cos it's multi-fragmentory or something...

Like joe said, you got a turbo? Mine is keeping me (kind of) occupied while i'm off work. Thinking happy thoughts for you (and me)!  Roll Eyes

God knows what im gonna do.  Frames gonna be for sale soon though, im looking to change up for something shorter travel to get rid of the temptation to race once im fit.  Just wanna enjoy riding bikes!

emwyn mate, cheers for the good luck wishes, the same goes to you.  Ive been in this same situation before and its unbelievably horrible.  The specialist i saw was a guy called simon lambert.

Got rollers in my flat in newcastle so i'll be pickin them up at the weekend.

was it the bit where you drop off the bridge right at the very end and there's two landings, one onto more wood and further onto the dirt or was it the massive wallride/berm?
i saw a few people crash off the drop thingy right at the end, someone near the end of second race runs as the weather was getting seriously bad - might of been you.
I hope you get better man that must be ridiculously frustrating and yeah maybe you should just let yourself enjoy your bike for a bit once it's healed... that was my second race ever after eastridge a few yers back and I dunno if I'll bother racing again altho I did pretty good for myself, you get more runs and time riding by putting your money into just doing uplifts and chilling out.
get well mate.

canarybird - it was after that drop off the bridge, I'd gone round the corner and went to pedal towards the double.  Looks like my back wheel just locked up and bucked me off.

I'll do BUSA's next year but thats more for the banter and meeting people than the race!

Ouch yeah that's a really fast bit, I hope you get better real quick
yeah, the banter is good, was lovin the atmosphere.  It's my last year of uni so no more busas for me unless me and sue can sneak in as alumini!  I'll probably come along anyway if I can just for the banter and watching,
take care
