Yeah definitely go as an alumni if you can, great chilled fun event.  Reminds me of the good old days of the Malvern classic and Cheddar challenge.  DH & XC went there separate ways so that both would get better courses etc, but I think I miss the old "combined events", they have a lot more atmosphere to them don't they?

I think I've got a couple more BUSAs in me, and then I'll be 30 which is officially too old to go to student races methinks Wink

Just found out I need surgery on this one as well.  It's all moved itself around and is looking pretty minging.

Don't really know what to say or how to feel about.  My head's a total mess at the moment Sad

Feel for you fella.

I was in a similar position not long ago. Broke my arm, then collarbone and then wrist (all on my right side) within a period of 4 years. After my collarbone (which was pinned) i never thought I'd get back to my usual ways. But happily the confidence returned. Even after breaking my scaphoid bone in my wrist I just knew I'd be back on it in no time. Its just one of those things.

The collarbone is a bugger though as it really effects every movement you make. Stay positive and think about better times. Get yourself out with your biking mates still and take pictures if you can. It will keep the spirits high and make you long to return to the saddle again.

Im off in to hospital next thurs.  The last x-ray looked horrendous!  It's only broken in one place, but it has split in two other places meaning it's gonna be another complicated op and a plate the same as last time.

Great Sad

Had the operation yesterday, it took an hour and a half longer than they'd exected and I needed bone grafting from elsewhere on my arm to get it back in the right place.  Had an awful night last night, made slightly bearable thanks to my friend morphine.

Home now, so roll on the recovery!

Its all a bit odd at the moment.

Dressing and stitches came out yesterday, looked at it all today and having two matching scars, one on each side is the most depressing thing ever!

The physios pretty hard at the moment.  Ive only got around 15-20% of the movement that i should have normally and because of nerve damage in the op we're not sure how much i'll get back.  It's pretty touch and go but im gonna keep working at it, it'll come sooner or later Smiley

Im pretty down at the moment and its kinda gettin to me, but hey it'll be fine!

Least it's symetrical i guess.

I wen't yesterday to see about my scapula break, final appointment. Said to stay off sport for another couple of weeks but that it's healed well and that it *shouldn't* have problems later on in life due to my young age.

About 10% chipped off the socket. Had it been 20% i would have needed surgery. He even says it won't be weak and dislocate etc. Which is good. Want to make sure it's 100% before i ride again.

I thought my scaphoid was also broken at first aswell and wen't into plaster for a few days. Luckily it wasn't otherwise i would have been in for 6-8 weeks.

This is the first time a crash has propperly injured me. I've been feeling pretty down perviously but things are getting better.

I'm sure they will do for you too, it could be alot worse remember.

Chin up mate.  Smiley
