Cwmcarn Carsharing thread No2
« on: March 12, 2008, 21:58:44 PM »

The previous car sharing thread didn't really work.  Firstly it clearly showed how useless these forums are.  Secondly I don't think people realise how important this event is to the future of Cwmcarn as a DH race venue.  Thirdly I'm not sure people know how to use a thread like this correctly.  I will post two examples below of how this thread should be used, please do not reply to the next two posts as they are examples.

Example 1

Lift wanted from Luton.  I'm medium tall, blonde hair, blue eyes.  I'm racing both days at Cwmcarn and need a lift because I don't want to clog the car park up with my car.  I also think car sharing is a good idea because it's cheaper (we can share costs), uses less fuel (good for the environment) and if I injure myself someone else (my car sharing buddy) will be able to drive me home.  Hey if my car sharing buddy injures himself I can drive him home thereby saving his wife having to drive all the way to Wales to pick him up.

Lift offered to Sunday Race at Cwmcarn.  We are driving up from southampton on Saturday night so we'll be there ready for first practice on sunday morning.  We are in a transit van with a bed in the back.  there is room for one more.  We can pick you up anywhere roughly on route from Southampton to Cwmcarn.  Bung us a few quid towards the fuel and we'll be square.  you can sleep across the front seats (bring a sleeping bag)

I posted this on the other thread as that's where the link from ddh takes you... anyway, here it is again:

I'm driving in solo from Bristol so i've got 2 seats spare. I can fit two bikes on the back, and one in the boot with a couple of seats down... reply back to this if it's any help.

Cheers

ps, or if someone else from bristol has a space free then i could get a lift with you.

ty for the tip, I've changed the link now...J

I have space for one in converted ford transit from the south east area, providing my entry is accepted; which it should be as i sent it on the 12th and the website states that entry's in the post will be accepted.

Van has cooker, fridge, garage, pretty much everything.

Will be about £30 - £40 fuel

Let me know.

Anyone heading up from Bridgend way? A lift would be much appreciated, but I'll be driving up otherwise. If someone needs a lift from down this way I can fit another bike on my rack, and probably one in my boot or somthing aswell. Just heading up for the sunday though Undecided

I'm marshalling on Saturday and Sunday, i will have a space in my car for the Saturday i could bring four people or one person and a bike as i would have to fold the seats down.

I'm coming from Cardiff and i will have to be there for 8 am on the Saturday.

I have already arranged a car share for the Sunday so won't be able to give any lifts for race day

drop me a pm if you are interested or email me at jonesap5@cardiff.ac.uk

There was a hardtail guy who caught the train up from Cardiff, does anyone know who he is or got a way of contacting him, might be able to give him a lift to some of the races:)
