Now that this is built...is anyone else bitterly disappointed at how poorly designed and built the track is considering it was billed to be the 8th 4X track in the UK and it would host races?

The contractors have gotten away with murder!!! £20,000 and the track trails off into a bloody straight with a double the height of a curb (not exaggerating) and there are huge amazing looking berms, however, they lay redundant on the straights!!!? If that wasn't enough the big double they have made has no transition and is a step up - You couldn't even clear it with an MX bike! Clearly the people that designed the layout didn't actually supervise the contruction and the construction company that put their bid to tender were completely out of their depth!

Is there anyone out there that's as disappointed as me?

Someone let me know if there's any dig days organised to sort this out, or even if anyone thinks it is possible to salvage the track without a digger given the material they have chosen to built it out of?

Not been up yet Adam...give us a shout when you are next going up there.

The group of Nottingham guys that designed / organised it and got it sanctioned all arrange things through a forum called frr riders

its

http://www.free-riders.co.uk

Maybe a few people peed off on there mate and if there is any organisation to rectify it you can be sure it will be co-ordinated through that site.

Yeah, I've looked at that site and the forum on the track, but the thread seems to be arguing about spelling and proper grammar - Seem like a bunch of r'tards...if they can't even talk about the track without squabbling about shite there's no wonder the track's in such a state.

Give me a shout when you're south of the river and I'll pop over with you mate

Here's a crap photo of the end of the course...just demostrates how little they've done with the space given. To be fair it looks better at the top of the course - Tho rides just awful!

NB: You can see the curb sized double on the last straight, only just...but shows you could just bunny hop it

When you said "curbed size double" i didnt really believe you but that is just shocking. A 4 year old would probably have designed a better track than that.

Anyone know what's happening to this track or is it now officially a lost cause?

It will always be a lost cause so long as people sit on forums moaning about the lack of progress.

Take it from personal experience, you will need to get pro-active if you want anything fixing.

in defence of free-riders.co.uk that designed the track the builders took absolutly no notice of these plans and when the guy who was overseeing the build came back from a weekend away they had finished it, WRONG!
it is a shame as the land had alot of potential and because of a few numpty 'gardeners' who deemed themselves experienced track builders that potential has been wasted.

i was looking forward to there being a 4x track pretty local to me but now i shall just stick to BMX tracks. at least they are 99% built correctly.

I'll give Rushcliffe BC a shout and see if I can get a bunch on people with spades together...or perhaps see if we can hire a bobcat to fix it up at little

If you need any help dealing with councils give me a yell

I helped set up www.northeastbmx.co.uk which is essentially a club who took over the running of a rather ruined bmx track in the North East, check the gallery for more info

Got a couple of mates at Loughborough uni who would probably up for help with the digging, Im in Kent on placement but if a trip up coincides with a dig day I should be there if I can.
