My nearest bike shop is Fortwilliam which is about 35miles away and i would have to wait for them to order all the parts in as i was wanting them built on to nuke proof hubs..i seen that Mtb direct stock nuke proof springs can you get hubs in easily? 20mm and 135x12, i just got a set of yellow 729s and wanting them built up fairly quickly think yous could do it?
Well i did get through to crc in the end but they wernt very helpful, so i gave mtb-direct a phone think it was Col i spoke to and he was really helpful hes going to phone around and try and get these in for me .... Cheers Alex
From my experience crc do a good job and are pretty efficient. You`d just have to faff around with postsing your rims to them. You might find it cheaper to drive to fort bill after paying postage both ways to ireland, but its less time consuming to post them off. keep calling-i have trouble getting through, but doesnt stop me from getting my stuff from there!
get a proper wheelbuilder to do them, it'll be worth it in the long run, and they'll probably need re-tensioning. i know wheelspin cycles do amazing wheelbuilds,
lbs's should compete with crc's prices then, and not have distributors that take 2/3weeks to get things done, when you can order it from crc and do it yourself. if the rest of the world worked at the same speed as some of the UK's distributors then the place world be a joke, fishers for example, took 4 weeks to replace a piston, i could have got it from crc by the next day, but wanted to warrenty it. people vote with their wallets.
end of the day, crc cannot advise you on the best thing to get, nor can they face your frame to keep your warranty.
something goes wrong, lbs replace there and then. with crc or wiggle it may be weeks before you have a result. don't forget, crc uses all the same distributors lbs's do so if you hve a problem its just the same plus extra for postage and longer because it goes back to ireland.
