I use the alloy versions on my Orange and they rock. Unbelievably grippy and i got them for a good price off ebay brand new. They might be hard to find because i don't think you can buy them online. However get in touch with Jungle the importers and see what they say. Oh and they look great!
If you buy the straightline pedals take your time putting the pins in as the threads have not been cleaned out of paint and its quiet easy too strip the threads .. apart from that they are really wide and grippy.
it does depend on shoes aswell i have crank bros 5050's with huge pins that are crap with the wrong shoes, similarly i have shimano mx30 (DX) with the street pins in that are still super grippy with 5/10's

v12 with race pins ftw, yes they hurt if you get shinned, just try nd avoid it! mine are well over 2 years old now and still fine! been through a proper battering too

On this topic, my Funns are the best pedals I've ever used. However they are always ripping pins out on rocks and the threads have got knackered now so the new ones I put in do not stay there very well.
So: I've taken them into the lab workshop, going to drill through them, tap the thread and then use bolts like on an atomlab that come up from underneath, will post back here how I get on!

I second the shimano DX's. Lots of grip with the longer pins put in with any trainer/shoe and the platform was of a decent size. The also look quite snazzy
One problem I did have though was the bearings did get a bit loose in them meaning play in the pedal. Still ran smooth though.

I run DMR V8s.... in comparison to other pedals i've tried (like 50/50s), personally i find them a hell of a lot better. I think it's mainly because of the large openings through the pedals, allow shoes with a bit of flex to sit into them a bit, nice grippy pins aswell.... also increase the grip with Terrors?
But the V12s are obviously better, fully sealed bearings (only thing i'd say wrong about V8s- mud and grit finds the bearings sharpish )
So yeh, DMRs all the way!!!

My brother has been running the 24 bicycles butterfly pedals for literally years, would have thought pushing about 5 or 6 now. They are a bit bent but what can you expect after that long. They're the most grippy pedal i've ever tried (althought that isn't a huge amount i'll be honest). I found them too grippy really as it's a right bitch to move you're foot around on them if you've put it on in the wrong position.
