Well, 2 horses and 1 babe..............

 Cheesy

Which one is the babe? I think they're all reasonably attractive!

I'm not sure. I was just laughing at what Farrant came out with Cheesy

 Wink

They're all gorgeous girlies! look at those smiles!!
Add to that the fact that they all know how to handle a bike and get great results!

Just because they're a different sex doesn't mean they're any less (or more) competitive!

They still have to put in the same hours of training and preparation as the men to be the World class athletes that they are!

I hope you realise that these comments are putting you across as a sexist cnut

Then ealier on you wrote this...

Go to a big football match and you do get matches before the main event, a junior match or heaven forbid a womens match

Slightly contradictory there?  Undecided

Its a shame that she has decided not to race Wc's this year, she was hot Tongue

It was sarcasm, pointing out to the guy who said that you wouldnt that in football womens matches are often used as "warm-up" events to the main event which is usually the mens match.

You've misunderstood me.

There is no difference between men and women downhill,
Its just that the women go first meaning that the men watch their bums as they pedal off down the hill and pedal that much faster to try to catch up and get a glimpse on the way down.

I can only assume that the athertons use a different motivational technique though otherwise it would all be rather wrong.

I do however think its quite sad that tracey wont be racing this year though but i can understand her reasoning, trouble is she is less likely to get a better deal next year now.
Having said that mick was meant to be concentrating on making the family business a more profitable proposition or whatever and maybe this would help her in a year or two.

Taking a business course is probablly a good idea though.

Take everything i say with a pinch of salt

I guess the problem is one that someone's already stated - companies put money into riders because they're very effective advertising boards.

At the recent chicksands mini DH there was about 170 riders taking part and I think about 8 were girls. From that kind of a statistic, a company will naturally want to sponser a good male rider as he'll give the best returns through impressing other guys and getting them to be interested in the product. As far as they're concerned, women dont care, women wont be contributing significantly to their annual turnover - so they will have to expect a lower level of support. This all comes down to one thing of course - MONEY.

I think it's great that DH is a sport where both sexes are given an equal footing (in terms of the attitude of the sport) - but until more girls get involved, the female support will continue to grow slowly.
