I think with all the rider access youve got and the mass of footage you must have it might be a good idea bringing an editor and music tech on board to solidify your film as its quite easy to get lost in the moment and have a b grade product
That defeats the object of making a mountain bike movie though, part of the challenge and enjoyment comes from editing your own stuff. If you don't it's not completely your project and Rankin, Clay etc do their own stuff. Having said that doesn't Rankin get someone else to do music?
i would just like to add, remember this is only to give you guys a taste of what its about. Callum is slaving his ass off working then traveling etc to make this so for the time he gets to edit i struggle turning my computer on... i can assure all of you that the footage and music sounds land ooks twice as good when presented properly. and the sameyness of the shots will be corrected as i no Callum is traveling everywhere to get this variation in shots and more footage in general.
well to be fair he did post it up so critisism is probobly wanted. I think what I have said is fair and I also think you'd be suprised at the level of dishing out that rankin and that actually do.
I think you need to give out jobs to people other than yourself I dont think the level of design / photoshop / typography work adds to the theme of it all at the moment, I would infact say it decreases it somewhat.
I cant comment on the song as I muted it after 20seconds - it really does sound like it was recorded on a mobile in the subway... really though get in touch with your audio because you need to realise the importance - great sound can carry the pace, feel and professional look of the film and poor sound will just distroy you and lose audience intrest at the first hurdle where as the picture can have somewhat a bit more leeway.
Its hard to judge editing on a teaser so as far as I can say is you have a few nice shots, steady hand and composition but like previously mentiond you need to set the scene on location more.

hope you dont mind too much what ive said i just dont see anypoint in suger coating stuff thats what friends and family are for.
Thanks for the shutdown dude but if im honest I am going to ignore you. I assume your speaking from a vast wealth of experience having made many films yourself? Trying to work full time, film at every opportunity, design a website and edit all at the same time isnt ideal. and I could hire a camera crew and editors and sound technitions but that would entirely defeat the point of making a film as Mono said., and im not made of money.
everyone else cheers!

Ok then last post for you, whats the point in posting up a trailer and saying "Let me know what you think!" if you just want to be suger coated fair play mate, but to be honest it will get you nowhere closer to a better film infact it will probobly weaken your final product as you wont push as hard.
I never mentioned once paying anyone or even getting a camera crew.. infact I think if you read what I said I think you've done an alright job on camera...
But just as it happens film makers are never really good designers and usually dont grasp all the sound subtleties...
You can get on the offence all you like... I think what your doing is good but you need to get some people to help round your edges and have a s**t HOT film rather than an average one.
and I have made a few films myself with a lot of personal cost, time and effort and I know unless you have a lot of experiance (And even then) you shouldnt be taking everything all on your own - Im sure you'll learn a wee bit more this way but the final product wont be as good.
im not being a negitive bast im being real, if i didnt give a s**t i wouldnt post.

I know your not being negative, and there's some good points. But it's just a teaser. not even a trailer!
