My wrist, Fractured or Sprained.
« on: May 08, 2008, 18:58:36 PM »

Yesterday i was playing footall with a few mates and i was in goal.. to cut it short i had the ball thumped against my wrist which i managed to keep nice and stiff..

Now, i've been to hospital twice this year already and both times haven't been for anything overly bad, nerve damage in a toe and some bruising on my knees..

Ok, so i know what a sprained wrist feels like, i;ve done it a few times but this feels different..

The pain is more located at one point (on top of my wrist above one of the ball joints) rather than all over my wrist, theres a red mark on my skin that was never there before and some light bruising and it's slightly swollen. It's painful to move around but i have full movement of my fingers and full feeling..

I only ask because i don't want to turn up to Hospital and miss another day of college for nothing. I know it's hard to diagnose over Tinternet, but some help would be good.

If you think it might be fractured then go off to the hospital. Best be safe than sorry and risk damaging it more.

I once fractured my wrist, went to hospital to have an x-ray, the found nothing. Then they phone up 3 days later to tell me that they have actually found a fracture and that i need to come in to collect a splint thing. By this time i had alot more feeling and movement back in my wrist so it was pretty pointless getting the x-ray in the first place.

Do what you thinks best, Im just saying that i fractured my wrist and it only really limited me for 2 weeks. But then maybe i got lucky.
