Nothing amazing here, just a basic £90 Nikon digital camera. The message "Lens error" now appears on the screen and the lens wont go back into the camera. Checked out the Nikon site and it says to turn it on then off again or fit a fully charged battery, neither of these solutions worked.

The cameras still in the warrenty/guarentee period so i could just send it off but is there anything simple that could resolve this quickly and potentially save me alot of hassle.

I've no idea what happened as the camera wasn't in my hands at the time. Regardless of that is there any quick fix solution or is literally just send it off to Nikon for them to repair under warranty?

depends where you bought it from.

my lens(albeit on an SLR) f**ked up, just wouldn't zoom.
no questions asked i got it sent back to nikon and repaired free of charge.
I bought mine from jessops and it came with a normal warranty, for once i am very glad i bought it from a highstreet shop rather than the internet.

If you decide to go through Jessops next time, buy their extended warranty. Mine has been brilliant for the price Ive paid. So far Ive had two lenses replaced due to accidental damage and because it covers it they usually just replace it as its cheaper/easier for them. More than made my money back.
