Hope don't do email, they are old fashioned northern types. Just pick up the phone and speak to them, they are friendly helpful people who know more about their stuff then, err, anyone else.

Spoke to hope today on the phone and tbh the guy wasn't much help, kept trying to say it must be the bearings even though I told him there was no play whatsoever in QR set up! Anyway I'm going to try another wheel in them at work on sunday and if that doesn't fit I'll be back on the phone to them :/

Hmm, a reply from Hope:

"the first thing i can suggest is to eliminate what the issue is.If possible can you try your wheel into another 20mm fork of a friend or shop to decide if it is wheel issue or fork issue.I'm not trying to pass the book but it may be the axle not getting tight enough,if the wheel still has play in it in another fork we will quite glady have a look at the wheel for you and exchange what is needed.have a try and get back intouch with us."

So...I think I need to reply given that I've tried three wobbly hope wheels in my fork and my wheel in another fork..

Dan, didnt we try your wheel in my forks ? and all was ok ? Can't remember now.

I have 36 Talas and there is a tiny tiny bit of wobble but hardley as bad as yours, and when you tighten the QR's a bit more it goes away.

I also have a few other wheels with 20mm hubs that we could try to see if its the forks, my azonics, Sunns etc..

I thought it still wobbled to be honest; and I know that two of your other wheels were as bad as mine, in my forks.

The thing is, I had my lowers and axle replaced so it can't really be the forks!

yeh, and my other wheels in your forks.  I've just checked my wheel again, there is ZERO wobble in my Talas now after I tightend the QR's a little.
Next time I'm up I'll bring some wheels to check it out.

Right, Hope have replied again and are asking me to send my wheel to them!

I'm not sure I really want to do this, due to the expense involved! I've got the direct number of one of their engineers now so will give them a ring in the morning..

Hmmm, just got off the phone to Hope again.

They reckon that if my wheel works in another brand of fork then simple, it's the fork not the hub that is at fault.

However, having had my lowers already replaced by MoJo how am I going to convince Fox that there's an issue between the 2008 36's and the Pro11!!

It seems that the "floating leg" of the 2008 forks is what's causing the issue as the Pro11's have a "floating spacer". As such the Pro11's need to be clamped securely between the fork legs and this doesn't happen on the 2008 forks Sad
