Do CRC only have one phone?
Usually takes 30mins of constant ringing before you finally get through. But ive never had any major problems with them myself.

CRC, issues
« Reply #31 on: August 26, 2008, 11:13:07 AM »

Is it just me experiencing an unexpected and unacceptable amount of CRC issues?

 - I don't know if this is a disallowed post by the look of the CRC ad in the top right...but absolutely infuriated with them right now. Poor expectation management.

Frame ordered, and...
18/08 : Delivered
: Cranks OOS
19/08 : Ordered different colour cranks which ARE in stock
: Couldn't ship without refunding (? even though they had 2 forms of payment)
20/08 : Refunded
21/08 : Ordered shipped
22/08 : No 24hrs delivery - Order didn't arrive
: Bank Holiday - No Bike
25/08 : Automated email told goods dispatched
26/08 : Order didn't arrive
Told via email goods dispatched today, when they were "shipped" 21/08

Tomorrow is the 27th, and might have goods then....

A week delivery for the cranks, with more than enough means of payment. Thing is in any other store, someone could have spent 5 mins of their time even if it was 5:30 til 5:35 and everything would have been resolved. This way they've lost a customer and any trust in their system. I've ordered from: Rutland Cycling / Stif / Ti bolts / some eBay customers and a number of UK distributors for parts of this same build this week, their service has been second to none and outstanding.

Theres been a few topics like this recently, I think a number of people have seriously lost faith in CRC over the last few months.  Have you tried phoning them yet? Thats always a good laugh.

With me I've personally had both sides recently. Brake pads arrived quicker than I thought they would and I was very happy, but have similarly seen the problems of the website being incorrect and items being out of stock!

Well i got through to them a few weeks ago, but last week they seem to have a new phone system, and no luck.

Sarah seems to be the bearer of bad news at customer service
Dean in sales, was actually very helpful.

So many bits were out of stock after i had ordered which is bizarre.

I ordered an I-fly saddle...
they sent me a bel-air

They also have suddenly run out of shims / bashguards i ordered too.

Same here man, ordered some sunline grips on Thursday got an email today saying they'd refunded it as they weren't in stock. Bit annoyed but they if they don't want our custom we can go elsewhere, merlin cycles are just as good price wise although they have limited stock in comparison. Anyways so i ordered my grips from mtb direct who I've heard allot of good things from on here.

I know it's a bank holiday but telling someone your stuff is sent out via phone AND email on a thursday, then the next tuesday telling them it's just been dispatched....is a little wrong.

The worst is ordering kit, that says in stock and then find out isn't....

So another persons had a bad run with a massive company.  It happens unfortunately.

I've ordered thousands of pounds worth of stuff from them over the years, as have a lot of other people on here.  They make the occasional mistake.  But they're nowhere near the number of customers they deal with at the end of the day!

Think about how many bloody parcels the Royal Mail etc. lose compare to the volume they deal with.  It's the same deal with CRC.  They make the occasional f**k up, and it's a shame when it involves you...but still.

If you want top class service go to your lbs. Thats where you'll get the best service, and if it isn't then atleast theres some accountability and they cant hide behind email.

im getting bored of these "CRC issue's" threads!

so what they make a mistake, learn with it, they are human afterall Roll Eyes

nothings ever going to be perfect. theres always going to be something that isnt right.

as rootes said, theres many people who've spent hundreds, maybe even thousands of pounds with them, and yes the odd problem occurs but its easily resolved after some persistance.

the people of this dayern age rely far to much on technology and just think that everything is simple. CRC have been having problems with their technology which is perfectly understandable. give the guys a break, most of the time they deliver within 48hours.

all we hear about is the bad problems, but to scale its nothing compared to all the positive things coming from CRC

mods please lock this thread, theres been so many and it really is quite pointless.  Roll Eyes

I think you'll find that their recent problems are causing many customers who have used them and "spent hundreds or thousands of pounds with them" to look at other companies.  They've really taken a dive especially in customer service, the website never seems to be updated, they never answer the f'ing phone and they don't reply to emails.  Thats not just bad business, its plain rude!

I had problems with helmet sizing a few years ago, called them up and sorted it there and then.  We spent 2 weeks trying to get in touch with them recently to no avail.

I was hugely happy with crc till recently but I have tried to use other options wherever possible over the last few months.  If i pay a little more but can actually speak to the company if something goes wrong then I'd rather pay extra and not use crc.

recently i emailed CRC and recieved an email in 5minutes, maybe its just luck of the draw but i for one still have faith in them.

the point is, CRC have literally become so big theyve now jumped back 2 steps. i admit they really do need a kick up the arse and to get it back in gear. but still, if you compare it to the positive things they do, then its nothing to be comparred to.

its like alot of business, once they start getting to big its alot to manage.

theyve delved into to much IMO, like the new bike team. theres nothing wrong with this, but they do need to work on customer service before they loose the customer(s).

somthing is goin down with crc, has no one noticed the amount of stuff that is 'out of stock'

could be updating..
could be waiting for 09 stuff..
could be going under..

who knows?... but their recent f**k ups are cropping up all over the place.

What about a move? I've often thought it would make more sense for them to be based in mainland britain? Surely most orders come straight over here from Ireland so cutting that section out would save money?

Interdh i agree with that, possibly grown too much to quickly without developing in certain areas that are now becomign critical. Not sure what there set up is but it seems they need more staff working there to answer the phone, reply to emails and generally keep the customers happy!

yeah Gonch, half my gripe is that, and getting stung after the sale has taken place.

I know the deal guys, i was an LBS mechanic for 3 years, neither my LBS or my own contacts could cut me the same deal that CRC were doing so unfortunately i made a call based on past experience (thousands of pounds spent at CRC previously).

They took 2 days to respond to emails and they need more resources for the phones.

Deep down, we're all saying this because most of us have received a great service by CRC, and feel like it would be a shame not to be able to count on them for all your needs in one place and speedy delivery.

Mind you, only a handful of LBS' seem helpful these days anyway. Maybe its just the SW.
