The best place to ride in the south.........

Uplift 25th May
« on: May 22, 2008, 12:39:14 PM »

It's another Monster uplift this Sunday 25th so get your self booked up and grab some seriously fun riding. I've been up the park this week riding most of the top sections and I must say it's simply uber fantastic - it's bone dry and running very fast - I thought I was in the Alps for a moment! The trails have certainly benefited from the building, rain and riding from the uplifts & races - so much in fact it's getting to a real problem deciding what trial to ride in the time you have. Uplift starts at 10am, stops for lunch 1-2pm and finishes at 4.30. Mums cake, hotdogs and lots of cold drinks will be available all day.

Not may booked at the moment so it could be a super quite one - I recon your arms will fall off before the uplift finishes as you'll get so many runs in...........  Wink

Direct link to book up http://www.eventbrite.com/event/94003166

(I might even get a chance to do a few runs!!)

hey,

we have places booked for uplift tomorrow, its gona rain, (dont worry we're not gona fag out!) just wondering how you think the trails will hold out?

did the last race & had an awesome time, i guess it would be fun when its a bit slippery, but we were some of the guys on the last uplift that got cancelled because of truck problems..although i think that was before you had that crazy troop carrier on tracks!

yours,
needing a little assurance,

Hi Cristian - no worries the uplift will still be going ahead - we'll either use the big lorry or the tracked hagglunds to get you back up. We've only had to cancel one uplift in three years - all the problems related to that event has no been sorted (ie the corner on the uplift track). The riding in the park will be a bit slippy (as will the uplift track) but it is very dry at the moment so it might all get soaked up pretty quick. Really it's impossible to predict as it depends on how much rain we get.

Anyhow glad to see we still have some proper hard core riders out there who don't mind getting wet!!

See you tomorrow.............

Hey how are you doing? You had a pretty major off on Sunday - did you get yourself checked out in hospital? Hope you're back to normal and not asking the same questions over & over!!??

haha is that what i was up to on sunday??

was planning on going into brighton hospital once home, rather than hold all my mates up, but concussion had cleared up by then, so decided to give it a miss. first physio appt is tomorrow, got 5 weeks till the alps so hoping its all fixed by then. damage appears to be 1 buggered knee, one knackered torso (ribs + stomach muscles + back on both sides) plus my shoulder, which feels like ligaments of some sort. Still not sure what went wrong, haven't seen the vid since that afternoon and i don't remember alot. guessing i took off squiff and landed very badly, as just overshooting shouldn't cause that much damage..

ta again for the tea + sympathy. prooved it is possible to clear the table in muddyish conditions (an argument i'd had with my mate on the previous uplift)
