hmmm think i am a supporter of this idea.
Would be mostly gadgets im guessing, but i am a geek at heart, love seeing all these flashy new pcs, laptops, media centres etc.

It will just turn into a "whos got the biggest tv" competition though ...  Cheesy

Well, I win. I have the biggest delete button and the biggest banning stick. Guess which I'll be using for anyone that post "look at my new iPod"? Wink

it would work but would be quite boring

you cant exactly mod/pimp your tv ( now someones going to put a pic up of some idiot whose pimped his tv)

to the average person most will have a standard tv that wont really be that interesting to look at

It's an mtb forum, we're kind of lucky to have an OT area anyway...if you want to post up spangly new tv's, find a tv forum...

its a different model?

different screen size?

different colour?

different finish?

different quality?

its fair to say many "non-bike lovers" would say a bike is a bike

im really starting to sound like i spend my life watching gadget shows, reading computer magazines, and that i don't get out much,

amazingly none of that is true (thank god)

I think it could work if it was for odd / special things that people will be interested in, and not for run of the mill electronics etc.

But it would be good for instruments, media centres, pez collections, etc i reckon.

You say that but when you go out riding do only talk about bikes and riding or do you talk about other stuff too? I'd say the same applies on the forum.

By your theory of find a "find a tv forum" if you want to talk about TVs you end up on about 100 different forums for different things you'd want to talk about.

Whether we need an entirely new sub board is a different matter tho.

anything non bike realated, i.e. NOT necessarily TVs!!!! stuff that would interest people, not like "i bought this ps2 type controller for my computer" or other crap

and anyway i find that "the garage" is a pretty random anyway - people could just go and post their cars and car queries/problems in car forums?

why so anti this idea?

tbf mikeys ideas of things would work but other than that i dont think it would be that it interesting

surely it would be easier to just start a thread ? and see what happens ?
