Do you think Trials bars would be suitable for DH?

Are they strong enough?

Are they the right sweep?

Does anyone know of anywhere that I could get a set of bars made to my specification as nobody makes the bars that I want?

Try these; 780mm wide flat bars.  Just add some 20mm extensions.

Do you or anyone else know of a specific company in Taiwan (a website would be mint) and would I have to order a bulk quantity?

Taiwan.....

I think he was taking the piss!

You probably need to order 10,000 pairs!  (Why do we have pairs of handlebars)

What was wrong with the Trials pair with 20mm extenders.  Getting a pair made will cost you a fortune!

Try an engineering firm.  They may be able to make you a pair out of plain tube, bent to shape with a shim at the centre postion.

nothing is particualy wrong with the trials ones but will they cope with the added leaverage of 20mm added to the ends?

Yes!

The extra 200mm will be two tenths of f**k all difference.

The only worry is whether trials bars are strong enough in the first place.  The weight are comparable with DH bars so they should be OK?

you could get hold of just a few sets as 'prototypes', cost more though and your gonna have to design them which is probably harder than it looks (wall thickness, finish etc etc)! Undecided
