You will need 10 points from the year before, 2008, or 10 from 2009, if you did'nt race in 2008.
Having points from 2007 is'nt going to get you in, unless you are Elite or Expert.

The list is of venues is NOT legit Wink

Why only elites and experts? Would it be not fairer to have it run for two years. I have been injured this season and am not going to buy a license to do one race towards end of season when I finally get back on bike.

if they do it for two years there will always be someone in the same boat as you.  They have to draw the line somewhere.  Just get a license at the start of next year and do some races early season before the NPS kicks off and you'll be sorted.

no drama.

I think it is really quite hard top get into the nps. You have to come top 15 in a regional race to score at least 1 point. To me this seems quite a high bar to be set just to qualify for the nps.

As it should be really.  The NPS is supposed to be the highest level of racing in the UK where the best riders in the country go to battle it out.

The regionals are the place for all the new/improving/mediocre riders.  I'm not good enough to qualify for the NPS, before the points system was implimented I was racing and getting shite results because I wasnt experienced enough to compete with the big guns...

I've gone away and changed tack for this season.

People complaining that they cant get points arent good enough to race, seems fair to me.

It would actually be quite easy for me to race NPS i think, The hardest part about it is getting to all the venues.

That and I don't have a license.

Less of the big talk.  If you can do it, then do.  If not, then race elsewhere.

The new venues, hopefully coming available in 2009, will and should test the best riders in the UK, this is the reason for raising the points to 10.

Seb - We are'nt going to be putting in 12ft drops as you say, but the courses are going to be getting harder, I'll use Llangollen as an example, this course is so steep you will struggle to walk down it, you will be made to walk this course before you ride it.

Elites and Experts will have already had to qualify to get into these cats, so will have a lot more than 10 BC points

If you cant get 10 points, then your not good enough to enter a NPS; thats the idea.

And once again if you cant come like top 20 at a regional then you shouldnt be entering an NPS; this is the point, to only have good riders at an NPS. Not to have the disaster of Caersws in 05 because of people not having the skill level to ride the track.

Rumours, rumours, Llangollen will be used in 2009 as an NPS venue.
Please be aware there are issues with the farmer at the top of the course, if you are found there you will be ejected from the site, by him, he has a big gun as well. He will then inform SPS and we will impose a 12 month rolling ban on you entering any of our events, this could be a really great venue, please don't jepordize all of our hard work. If you do want to help with construction of the venue then plaese get in touch by phone or email

Thanks

only thing is that this year at the pearce cycles races, for example, there have only been like 11 riders max in juvenile, that means that over the series all the riders will collect points and the NPS will still have juvenile riders that arn't that good.

It's 1 of those catch 22 things, we have set a criteria for the series, so we cannot alter it for some cats, it has to be the same accross the board, but I know what you mean Wink

Well actually I was thinking exactly that, why COULDN'T it be different across cats?  Basically from the weaker categories why shouldn't you cherry-pick a list of riders that you think are eligible?  I don't want to sound sexist/agist, but I'd be all for you preventing all but the best of the juv/women/vets from entering so that we can have more challenging courses.

In other countries I believe it's quite common to have different sections of courses for the experts/elites etc, so maybe that's another route you could consider?

like at the moment all a juvenile has to do is turn up to a race and they will get the points to race nps coz there is so few of them, where as i an many other people are beating the winner in juvenile, but because of the strength of youth this year do not have enough points yet, fortunatly i have another year in youth, but i can't say the same for many of my friends
