Dodgy Knee
« on: June 27, 2008, 10:58:00 AM »

Hi All,

Went over the bars about 4 weeks ago and bust my hands up ( 1 bad sprain on left and 1 broken radius on right) which are geeting better now but i also hit my right knee pretty hard - So hard I could barley walk but the swelling went down after a few weeks and it was getting better.

I have started walking & cycling to work whcih felt fine and doing a few leg extensions in the gym and the pain went away

Two days ago the pain has come back - quite a dull ache which is worse after cycling (standing on the pedals especially) - The pain is on my right knee on the outside - I can't fully straighten my leg and tense the muscles without pain and if i tap on a particular spot I can feel it throughout the knee.

Its weird cos i have full movement back , can kneel down fine and squat fine - walking is ok but its only the lack of straightening that is annoying, especially after getting over the broken arm!

I have a doc appointment next week as its not emergency but just annoying

Anyone had the same problem ? Know what it coudl be?

Cheers

I snapped a chain and knee'd my shifter couldn't walk for a week, didnt go to the docs assumed i'd just bruised it badly.

A year later i still can't walk further than a mile without it hurting, but it's fine when i ride.

I can't help you with what's up with it because i don't know but going to the docs is very advisable as i didnt and mine is still f**ked, after a long walk i have a limp, i'm 17 for f**k sake.

Hope you get better
