i think bmx has come close to the edge. one day tricks will get too extreme and dangerous, some people will get badly hurt. then they will get scared and cool the tricks down a bit. the few guys who decide to stay doing crazy dangerous tricks will become unpopular and everyone will be happy and wear full body armour!

(may have exagerated a tad)

new era hats-- na i dont like them
28" bars- i have them but i prefer them to the 24 inch ones that came on the bike
no brakes- i have no brakes at the moment
there sisters/ girl friends jeans on-- i dont wer tight jeans (plus i dont have a sister or a girlfriend at the moment
super baggy t- nope
plastic pedals to save weight-nope
pivotal seatpost with a quill stem wedge bolt and the seat tube cut down to the top tube-i have a normal seatpost which i have to admit is proper short

so not everything applies to everyone

And MTBers aren't? If thats the only negative thing you can find about BMX then I think you should get out and ride your bike a bit more Wink

Have to agree with all those trends apart from, big bars and plastic pedals.

Big bars genuinely do help loads, bring you up at the front of the bike, makes you feel more stable, makes spins easier etc. And anyone that complains you cant x-up or bars with them is talking pish.

And plastic pedals, there amazing, slide over everything making grinds easier, grippy as hell and dont take such big chunks out your legs. And for £12 pretty good value.

I don't know if anyone else remembers a guy from the Raceface UFC a few years ago called Joe Perrizo? He had an awesome couple of videos, one of which showed him front flipping off a drop. There was a lot of forum abuse about him being more trials based, but it was an amazing vid, and he was a good all around rider. Annoyingly though I can't seem to find it, either on Youtube or the Raceface archives.

It is the bollox that vid.  Really ballsy and great to watch.  Lot of chatter about it in bmx circles it seems because it is a bit different and less flippy dippy.

That backside boneless on the tree stump is a thing of beauty.   Grin
