Thats not just a bruise, thats pretty bad internal bleeding! He needs to get that checked out!!
My friend did that to his thigh, turned out he split a vein.

doubles not being his forte, he pulled up on the bars and did a 180 clipped in, missed the landing by miles and landed on his arse. Yep broke his coxis ( I can't spell it either) Seen the doctor so all is ok'ish
