Stephen Murray - Pleney Run-A-Thon
« on: July 02, 2008, 07:24:15 AM »

On Monday Chain Reaction Cycles / Intense team rider Chris Kovarik set the time for the Stephen Murray 'Pleney Run-A-Thon' - if you are in Morzine this season you have to give it a go!!

Stephen was one of the best BMX dirt jumpers around - as you may know, whilst competing last June at the first round of the Dew Tour, Stephen crashed doing a double back flip injuring his spinal cord and vertebrae http://www.myspace.com/murraystrong

All worlds have joined together to help Stephen, not just the cycling industry.

This season Nikki and Nige (Nathan Rennie's World Cup mechanic) from Dert bike shop in Morzine are trying to raise some much needed cash for Stephen by organising the 'Pleney Run-A -Thon'.

Every 2nd Wednesday lunch time Dert will be holding the 2 hour challenge: 10 euros to enter and see how many runs you can do in 2 hours - Chainless!!!

Chris set the time to beat with 9 chainless runs in 1 hour 54 minutes.

At the end of the season there will be a prize to whoever has the most runs within the 2 hours (time will sort the eventual winner).

Dert bike shop also have signed pro rider race tops that will be auctioned during the season - check their website if you want to bid on a shirt and for more information on the Pleney Run-A-Thon http://www.dertmtb.com
