Is the thomson elite stem any good for DH? i see it is on alot of Dh bikes but it isnt a true Dh Stem is it?
Also has anyone got any recomendations for DH stems? It'll be going on a V10 with boxxer teams.

Thanks, Tom.

thomson x4 stem in 50mm length and for 1.125" steerer

one of the (if not the_) strongest stems on the market, awesome quality and light too....

not cheap, but well worth every $$

I dont want a heavy bike about around 39 would be an ideal weight for it.
Also i dont want any nasty looking parts on it but just say some ideas and it'll all help

ok well your options are...
burgtec direct
e13 direct
sunline direct
sic direct
dangerboy direct
cromag direct
funn direct
point one racing direct (no uk importer at the moment) 128grams!!!

probably a few others.

if y uwant something light weight looks at either the e13 one, sunline or point one racing.
i personally dont like the look of the e13 one from a cockpit view
http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1812060/ (although think it looks well nice from the side)
i recon the sunline one is your best bet.

(also im assuming you want to run 31.8 bars? if not then your options are abit more limited...)

i used to run a funn direct mount on my boxxers and i thought it was the nuts looked good and had two reach options, my V1 sunline is nice and light so look at their direct mount stems.

Direct mount is the way to go as your bars are always straight (i get picked on because mine are always pi**ed, i say it evens me out)

just had a look, sunline is the lightest and the funn one is the cheapest and i think the wedge shape of it looks nicer

yeh i also have the funn one, direct is so much nicer, i also never had straight bars, which is the only reason i got rid of the thomson. i got fed up of crashing in races and having to waste time straightening my bars! the funn one looks really good and does the job (although im definately saving up to get one of those point one racing ones imported...!)
sunline is the lightest one thats easy to get hold of in the uk though....
