Tyres - Advice needed
« on: July 06, 2008, 13:03:48 PM »

Ive always thought tyres were a pretty boring so ive never really paid them much attention, however I now need some for my bike.

My bike is a hardtail, I ride dh, xc, and dj on it.

I currently have Maxxis Highrollers fitted (2.35 dual ply super tackies) They are nice and grippy and I havent had any punctures with them but they weigh loads and seem to drag alot.

Before these I had single ply highrollers which were nice and light but punctured easily unless you ran them at 50psi.

So which tyres would you recommend for the riding disciplines I mentioned?

Obviously they need to be a decent all round tyre that isnt too heavy but less prone to punctures than single ply highrollers.

Any help is appreciated

What about 2 ply highrollers in maxxpro. The harder rubber should roll faster.
