Watch the video of greg herbold. They show almost all of his bike APART from whatver this hammershit gubbins is.

It is something to do with the cranks, drivetrain sort of area un surprisingly.

I reckon it is belt drive. or a new way of pedalling!

I reckon its a shifting system where you dont need to put pressure on the shifter, so its like upshifting for each way, would be cool Smiley

just a guess, belt drive sounds like an idea. Though how the bikes in the video dont have swingarms that can be taken apart to get the belt in. So on that basis, i doubt its a belt drive Tongue

Not so sure as the bikes would probs be set up single ring at the front for what they where doing. So it wouldnt be on all bikes? Not sure on that one Tongue

maybe they have worked out a way of splitting a belt drive? I.E scissors.

And orange have already done alot of beltdrive.
I hope truvativ have come up with something new and lush!

Its a hub gear in a BB. You loose the front mech.

Then how exactly do they get the belt backtogether in a strong way that wont fail then tim? Roll Eyes

Orange had cut the dropouts on one side in half and put a big bolted drop out on to compensate for some stiffness though, it was a modded p3 xc bike.

Taking teeth out to make a smaller gear, adding more in to get into a higher gear.

I remember Herbold running a similar set up back in the early 90's on his Koga-Miyata. That bike was just a rooling test bed for so much prototype kit. As i remember it it was called the Shimano fm5

Belt driven fig roll dispenser...

Sorry. Little OT, but does anyone else get excited about "secret" product launches in the hope it might be an advance in gearboxes?
