They'd probably put leaf springs in too.
Hehe, that made me chuckle!

its so weird opening up a faulty 55 and seeing "SR Suntour" stamped on the cart  Tongue
Whaaat? I've been inside a few ATA Carts but all from 07. They've actually stamped SR Suntour on the cartridge? Since when have they ever stamped anything on their cartridges!? That's not a good sign.

On a serious note - I love my 07 888 world cups - now they've bedded in you can really feel how well they work. And I loved my 06 Z.1 SL's with the way the Doppio just kept on working, and the RC2 kept everything in check.

Can't say I care for the new looks or the fact they've moved to Tawain. I can't see them dying tho to be honest, they've still got a brand following and I think Rock Shox is a prime example of how a company came come back from the gutter.

I totally agree with the range though - I found myself confused by the 07 range and even more so now with the 08 range. No more proper hardcore, well damped 130mm fork. I think Axing the Z.1 was a baaaad mistake.

Have you seen the string in 888 ATA's!  There is f*cking string holding a floating valve in place!!  Unsurprisingly it snapped in mine! The bushes died after three weeks use and the ATA winds itself down over one run, you start with 8 inch travel and finish with 6 and a few degrees steeper head angle!!  I've had it all ripped out of mine....

I think the fact the company has been sold probably illustrates the fact it isn't going under
To what end would someone want to buy Marz and then shut it down?  You would think they would at least attempt to recoup its debts.  Also, do you realistically believe all the debt is as a result of poor sales?  Are they selling them at a loss?  The debt is probably the loan taken out to cover the relocation of production to Taiwan.

Yes.

I'd taken one apart with about 1 month of them coming out, such is my curiosity. I was pretty horrified to find that my ATA in my 07 All Mountains was held together by string. The cart decided to stop working a few months ago, never showing more than 130mm stanchion out of it's 160mm travel. Took it apart, and surprise, surprise, the string had snapped.

Eddy agree with everything there.

I meant more the abundant availabilty of spares. Some of the US companies seem to take a dim view on this...

I heard an interesting view from someone in the industry yesterday. Basically that the new owners will sell off the bicycle arm and keep the motorbike business - as that fits in with their core. So who'd by the bicycle suspension side? Well, SRAM were close to buying Fox last year, so they may very well be interested. Interesting times.

I can't see why unless they want to create a huge monopoly, would suck if they did. I'd imagine there are others who would be looking to acquire a suspension arm and who DO have the money and market share to develop it. Mainly Shimano in order to compete with SRAM which I can't see being a bad thing. Then again, theres a lot of other players who might be looking to take on the SRAM group...
