Yeah was gonna say, it's old news...

The theory being that the downtube is under tension so therefore can be substituted with a wire. Don't fancy it myself, mainly because you can't guarentee it will stay in that condition at all times.

who cares if it works, its damn ugly. and thats what counts....surely?

did someone say innovation? Slingshot have been doing that string thing for ages, 10+ years.

So they've sacrficed a downtube and it still weighs 5lbs.......yet there are bikes with downtubes which weigh sub 5lbs....

Plus that thing does look horrible, who here would actually like to be seen riding that?

I saw Jo Burt riding through Hove Park on one of those in 1995... weird.

Mmmm, good point.  Could be handy though for knocking up impromptu cheese sarnies on the hill if you came across a discarded hunk of cheddar and a back of baps.
