dead arm that is still here after days from a crash
« on: July 22, 2008, 14:04:21 PM »

binned quite bad few days ago, messed up some parts of me so cant ride yet but I also hit my arm really hard when I fell so now for 3 days I have had a constant dead arm and its in a lot of pain if I lift up something as light as a mobile phone or  move it. Any ideas why this is? or how long it will take to go away etc.
cheers Smiley

If there's any nasty looking swelling it'll be a fracture/break, but more likely it'll be a major contusion (read: really bad internal bruising). If it's still tender to touch in a couple of days, get it checked out. But if you're in any doubt at all, get it checked out.

i fell of over 18 months to 2 years ago landing on my side, went proper numb and to this day it is numb just a little less intense. perhaps its due to some sort of nerve damage or whatever if it persists.  Undecided

could it not be a trapped nerve? I have trapped a nerve in my shoulder playing rugby and thought my arm was broken because it was such a wierd pins and needles numbness!

Does it hurt lew? Is there any visible bruising/swelling, anything like that? Can you move it fully?
