ok so the last three dirt's have had a two page spread, as you open the cover, for a certain 661. in the most recent i noticed that despite the three blingin new 661 lids advertised on the left, some bright spark (who, in a big ad firm, would be jobless by now) decided to use a wicked photo advertising the helmets of a certain troylee. in my mind that is just pure poor attention to detail, and for an advertising editor, or whatever they are, its pretty slack. if i owned 661 i would be seriously pi**ed off. discuss......
its not even in the same league ....661 stuff is just s**t compared to troylee
but .... by showing a troylee in the advert i guess its making the comparison ... and somehow making the consumer think the product is the same .... thats perhaps the logic behind it .... loose i know but possible non the less
not everyone is minted mate...... i started out with a 661 helmet and found it really nice..... then i got a deal with a TLD lid... that the only reason i got mine.... other wise id of got another 661.... there is nothing wrong with them
i don't mean to be rude but what on earth has that got to do with anything? if you read my post there is no socio-economic slant so i think you may have a chip on ur shoulder, i never mention there being anything wrong with them either so, frankly, i've no clue where you're coming from.
I think he's refering to Trail_Rat's huge sweeping statement, not your original post.
I don't think that it was overlooked by anyone. However i think that they have maybe not taken as much consideration in too how the reader/customer will perceive the ad.
You could look at it and say oh there trying to compare there helmets with that of Troylees and that what you get for 180 notes from TroyLee you could also get at a far less cost.
On the other hand you could also say that they have made a mistake that puts a dim light on the quality by not being able to produce an advert with the correct details. Although this actually happens allot in ads for many products in many rangers.
The last thought that I get from that is they may think "It's ok the average reader wont pick up on this and will be more concerned about the product that we are selling".
Either way you noticed the ad, you read (in detail) and now you have chance to make your own judgment.
The alternative explanation is that MMA knew exactly what they were doing when they printed the advert and knew that eagle eyed readers would spot the 'gaffe'. This is, i think, the fourth topic re this advert i've seen between all the forums I frequent (yeah, work is that boring at the moment). All talking about a line of advertising that doesn't usually get a second glance. 661 helmets, meh, next advert please. Instead there are conversations at races and topics on internet forums about it.
I'd say that the advert's done the job rather nicely, wouldn't you?
If you are referring to the Ad in MBUk 20th anniversary mag. The 3 page spread in the front has loads of these errors. It shows about 5 riders in Troy Lees. Cedric gracia in a Bell potty. And a few trials riders in Met and Giro stuff.

Are all Pro 2s made badly or is it just me? I am thoroughly annoyed by the whole thing.
Adam who's in the picture, went out on a 661 shoot during the Alps last Summer, I imagine it was just an image among a big stockpile of shots from that and various other shoots for all the pads and stuff that they are wearing.
Orge.
