Juicy Question
« on: July 24, 2008, 21:55:25 PM »

Not a huge problem but more of an enquiry regarding my Juicy Ultimate, when i leave the bike standing for a little the lever can touch the bar but when it has been used a fair amount it actually feels nice (not able to touch bar), is this just a case of needing more oil in the system, or am i just plain stupid and this is something i should know?  Grin

Thanks in advance!

You don't store it upside down/vertical by any chance?

Generally means oil has emptied from the piston and requires being pumped back into the system from the lever (right?).  Check everything from the lever. down the hose, to the piston is tight and bleed through.

No, my bikes never stored upside down :S So is it suggested just to re-bleed?

Well, oil is obviously evacuating for some reason.  You check the whole system for leaks?  Even if it's just a little damp somewhere.  Take the pads out and check the piston seals too.  Also inside the lever body.  Try and find a problem before wasting a bleed

Sounds like they need bleeding and a top up, ive got 08 Juicey Ultimates and 07 + 08 Juicey Carbons and none of them do what yours are doing.

simple bleed. sounds like the oil has coagulated some, and needs to be pumped to help it into the rest of the system.

if this is not the case, it may be the leaver piston thats nakered and will need replacing.

My 2008 juicy 5 has the same problem, however my front one has never skipped a beat.

The rear started getting worse and worse, until I could pull it back to the bar with no resistance, if you pumped it rapidly for a good dozen times, it showed a little resistance, but if you pulled the lever slowly it goes back to the bar.

I had it bled, it felt better but still felt underpowered unless pumped rapidly. It was then off the bike for a few month, then I have put it back on and it is useless. Feels the same as before, awful. Pulls straight back to the bar.

Did you sort it? I need mine fixed soon!
