Out riding for a long time...
« on: July 30, 2008, 16:50:26 PM »

Well as a few of you know about 6 weeks ago I did this: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/2178678/

I now have a 4" long plate on each bone and 5 pins going all the way through the bone.

I had my cast off yesterday and the consultant gave me some news.

1. It's goinng to be atleast 2 months until I'm playing sport/riding again.

2. The plates will probably need to come out as I can't afford to break that arm again with it in.

So no good news there.

Also I can see one of the plates running along the bone underneath my skin and can feel it.

I have got alot of physio ahead of me now as I do not have alot of movement in my wrist and rotation of the forearm.

Not looking good.

I'm in the same boat as you - still got 3 weeks in plaster on my leg (http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/2228341/).

It's going to be several months until I'm riding again, so keep your chin up - it's not that long to wait in the grand scheme of things Smiley

The fact I've done it on my longest Summer Holiday I will ever have ruins my year.

Will hopefully have a file of the x-rays tomorrow Grin
