as ive heard, tires are around $100 so you can bet your money you'll be ripped off on close to everything. theres no wonder whistler says that they're waiting for the rest of the world to catch up if they charge ex-torsionate amounts like that then theyre obviously going to have millions to spend on trail maintenance and building!

Do you benefit from a 2:1 exchange rate? Yes you do - even with the resort factor it is still cheaper in most instances than going out in the UK.

i managed to figure out all the offers the restaurants had on everyday of the week, so we were dinning out everyday and if there was no offers, get a bunch of you together, get the greyhound to squamish, go to wallmart and taxi it back, you'll get enough basic food stuff for months for virtually no money annnnnd, if you need basics like socks and cheap hoodies you can buy them there too!!

Tyres are more there but you have to weigh it up against the excess baggage you will be charged going out to take your tyres with you. Other than that get yourself into the GLC for a philly cheese steak for your lunch!

I went last year and had no end of problems with my vp free, twisted the lower linkage..etc..! Luckyly the lads at Fanatico bikes couldnt do enough to help!!

The only spare worth while taking is a mech hanger, or any bits that may brake which are frame specific! Brake pads are worth taking and an upgrade to goodridge hoses, as the plastic ones tend to split easy as!

Replacement parts arent over priced but if your not a machinic it takes a while to get your bike fixed by a shop...as you can imagine they're stacked out!!

Fork service/repairs are very reasonable, but bear in mind there are NO rear shock service centres, so if yours goes POP, you'll be buying a ne one!! :  (

Tires are expensive but the tracks are mostly nice and flowy so it's unlikely you'll shred a pair in a week!!

Ive been in whsitler all summer and im still here.
I keep my face knowen in all the shops but by far ive found summit and evalution to be the best. Bike and Bean just dont have the time of day unless you know them.

Tyres are expensive and it is cheaper to take them with you.

Tubes are cheap

The food here is cheap ... if you eat out. If your eating in it works out to be the same as back home

Spare wise id just bring tyres and tubes and a mech hanger. Ive broken a few bits like forks while being out here, it not fun but you cant plan for eveything. Also its not like france, you wont even ride with a camelback as the shops are rite at the bottom.

Also whistler works on a locals bassis. When your in shops ask if you can get a locals disscount, blag you work somewhere and you should get a disscount.
