Hidden Viewers

a little bit of a ramdom topic but when you look at the top of a board at who is viewing, occasionally it says hidden viewers.

why are people being hidden from the other forum members.

i'm more curious than anything really and i'm quessing there is a valid reason.

Do you mean where it says like "such and such users are viewing this board" and next to is would be "5 guests are viewing this board"
Or am i wrong ?

ON your profile there is an option to "show users your online status"
I assume not ticking that would mean you were viewed as hidden when you went onto a board

'Hidden users' is people who prefer not to have the 'online' bit under their name.

It stops people thinking 'oh, he's online, I'll send him a message because I'm bored and want a chat'
